The East Indian Society for the Studies of Social Sciences is now recognised by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi

We are pleased to announce that the East Indian Society for the Studies of Social Sciences is now recognised by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi. Our two journals ‘East Indian Journal of Social sciences’ (ISSN: 2277-4483) &  Purva Bharat (Manus O sanskriti)’ (ISSN: 2319-8591) have been formally recognized by ICSSR. We express our sincere gratitude to the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi, for recognizing our efforts and extending its valuable support to the Society.

Since its inception, the Society has remained committed to promoting high-quality research in the social sciences, with particular emphasis on the geographically remote regions of northern West Bengal. This endeavour has been both challenging and demanding due to various institutional and logistical constraints. Nevertheless, within a relatively short span of time, our journals have attracted a wide range of scholarly contributions from across West Bengal, Northeast India, and Bangladesh. The steadily growing number of submissions we continue to receive reflects the increasing academic engagement with and confidence in our publications.

We deeply appreciate the trust and confidence placed in us and looks forward to making even greater contributions to the academic community in the years ahead. This achievement marks a significant milestone in the Society’s journey and serves as a source of inspiration to further strengthen our commitment to rigorous, inclusive, and meaningful scholarship. With the financial and academic support of ICSSR, we are committed to taking our pursuit of research and scholarship to a whole new level.
